Meet Our Senior Management Team

Led by a senior management team who each average nearly 10 years of service to the company, Kroll Ontrack is dedicated to developing leading services and technologies that solve the problems and mitigate risk associated with recovering, searching, analyzing, producing and presenting data.

 

Dean J. HagerDean J. Hager
President and CEO

As president and CEO, Dean Hager is accountable for advancing the strategic vision of Kroll Ontrack and growing the company's business lines through continued investments in technology innovation and service enhancement. Hager holds extensive executive experience with more than 20 years in the software industry, leading teams across all functional disciplines.

Prior to Kroll Ontrack, Hager served 14 years with Lawson Software, Inc., most recently as executive vice president of S3 Industries where he had accountability for revenue, operations and strategic direction. He holds significant global experience having led organizations across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Lawson, Hager was employed by IBM for nine years, where he served in several management capacities and received several U.S. patents and achievement awards and in his tenure.

Hager received his Masters of Arts in management from St. Mary's College, Minneapolis, Minn., and his Bachelor of Science in computer science and mathematics from St. Cloud State University, Minn.




Gregory A. OlsonGregory A. Olson
Chief Operating Officer

Greg Olson joined the company in 1990 and currently serves as chief operating officer. Prior to this role, Olson served as vice president, product line management and operations and held numerous leadership roles throughout the product line management, operations and software development organizations. In his current role, Olson is responsible for operations worldwide for both the Legal Technologies and Data Recovery product lines, product strategy for data recovery and software, and he oversees the R&D technology development function for all of Kroll Ontrack's product lines.

Olson is a globally recognized expert in the area of data recovery and an experienced executive with extensive operational, financial and technical knowledge with specialized expertise in the areas of data recovery, computer forensics, electronic discovery and software development processes. Under his direction, the Data Recovery and Legal Technologies operations process multiple peta-bytes of data each year, on more than 60,000 customer projects, all with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

Olson graduated cum laude from St. Cloud State University in Minn. with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.




Todd JohnsonTodd Johnson
Vice President, Data Recovery Operations

In his role as vice president, Todd Johnson is responsible for all revenue generating and customer support activities for the Data Recovery services and software business line.

Prior to his current position, Johnson served as general manager for Kroll Ontrack Europe, LTD., where he oversaw revenue growth of 26 percent and increased operating profit of 84 percent between 2001 and 2003. In his nearly 20 years with the company, Johnson held a variety of positions including manager of sales operations, customer implementation manager, inbound sales manager and customer service manager.

Mr. Johnson received his B.S. in business administration from Metropolitan State University.




Jim ReinertJim Reinert
Vice President, Product Development

Jim Reinert, vice president of product development, drives product development for Kroll Ontrack's Data Recovery and Software product lines. Relying on his technical and business expertise, Reinert works with global customer segments to develop product and service architectures, business plans and service definitions through market analysis, competitive analysis, pricing models, capital investments and financial analysis. He has over 20 years of experience in a variety of roles at Kroll Ontrack, including software engineer, engineering manager, director of technology, and sr. director of software and services.

Reinert holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn.




Joel VogelJoel Vogel
Vice President, Discovery Products and Services

Joel Vogel is vice president for Kroll Ontrack discovery products and services where he oversees and provides executive and strategic leadership for Kroll Ontrack outsourced discovery, Client Services and discovery consulting functions. Vogel leads the strategic and tactical evolution of all client-focused products and services, addressing the changing market with product and service offerings to ensure excellent project outcomes.

Prior to joining Kroll Ontrack, Vogel managed and directed Paul Hastings' Practice Support Department with particular subject matter expertise in electronic discovery, project management, document analysis, technical operations management and trial coordination. He holds extensive practical and strategic experience consulting with clients and assisting legal teams with technical and project management services from the inception of a lawsuit to its final appeal. Mr. Vogel has held numerous executive level positions at both law firms and service providers during his 16 years of experience in electronic discovery and litigation support.

Vogel holds multiple B.A. degrees, with honors, in Business Administration, German and Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.




Chuck CrymbleChuck Crymble
Chief Technology Officer

Chuck Crymble, chief technology officer, is responsible for software product development, software quality assurance, IT infrastructure and product delivery for all of the company's products and services, both domestically and internationally. Technology solutions delivered from his organization have positioned Kroll Ontrack as a market leader, and several proprietary developments have resulted in patent and patent-pending technologies.

Crymble joined the company in June of 1992 as a software engineer. Prior to his current role as CTO, he served as development engineering manager, development engineering director and vice president of technology.

Crymble graduated magna cum laude from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.




Nancy A. RobertsonNancy A. Robertson
Vice President, Strategic Client Solutions

Nancy Robertson is responsible for assessing and delivering strategic solutions to meet the complex and evolving needs of clients. In Robertson's previous role at Kroll Ontrack, she evolved and directed the overall product offerings within the Legal Technologies business group. Prior to product strategy execution she developed the client services delivery team consisting of highly qualified Legal Technologies project managers.

Robertson has almost 20 years of project management experience and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI). Previous work experience includes a balance of consulting and industry experience managing projects and directing teams for Control Data Corporation, Deloitte & Touche, NordicTrack, Jostens and Norstan Consulting.

Robertson is a graduate of the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn. (B.A. Finance) and the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn. (M.B.A.).




Paul D. Fabel, Esq.Paul D. Fabel, Esq.
Vice President, Discovery Services Operations

Paul Fabel is the vice president of Discovery Services operations for the Legal Technologies business unit at Kroll Ontrack. Since joining the company in 1996, he has held various positions including general counsel for ONTRACK Data International.

In his role as general manager, Fabel oversees operations for all of the Legal Technologies business groups including electronic discovery, computer forensics, paper discovery and client services. Prior to joining Kroll Ontrack, he held various technology positions, including business and technology consulting, for ten years at UNISYS Corporation.

Fabel earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a master's degree and a J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota.




Don O'BrienDon O'Brien
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Don O'Brien holds revenue and operational accountability for Kroll Ontrack outsourced and DIY discovery, discovery consulting and software sales. He provides executive leadership for all U.S. Kroll Ontrack Legal Technologies business development and support services personnel and works closely with senior leadership to effectively promote Kroll Ontrack strategic solutions to the market. With nearly 20 years of business development leadership experience including senior leadership responsibilities with Fortune 500 companies, O'Brien clearly understands the value of nurturing close client relations and developing solutions that directly meet the ongoing needs of valued clients. He has extensive insight into highly regulated environments such as financial, pharmaceutical and government entities.

O'Brien received his B. A. degrees in history and geography from East Stroudsburg University, Pa., and holds his Assoc. in business administration from Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pa.




Jill PutmanJill Putman
Vice President Finance

Jill Putman leads the organization's finance group and is responsible for strategic business planning, financial analysis/reporting, budgeting and forecasting across all business lines. A globally experienced financial executive with broad expertise, Putman brings deep proficiency to Kroll Ontrack in organizational strategic planning and implementation, process improvements, mergers/acquisitions and divestitures, international business, accounting, auditing and financial management, among others.

Previously, Putman held executive leadership roles for Lifetouch and Secure Computing (acquired by McAfee), the latter as a key member of the executive leadership team. As vice president and treasurer she oversaw the global finance organization, lead acquisition and divestiture activities, developed and implemented organizational operating plans, and managed and implemented complex financial regulations governing the software industry.

Putman earned her M.B.A. in finance from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn., and a B.A. in accounting and psychology from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa.
