Hard Drive Software Licensing Information

To accommodate the varying uses of our products, we provide unique pricing and licensing options to fit everyone’s situation in the most cost-effective way.

Ontrack EasyRecovery software editions are licensed based on the number of drives to be recovered. The number of drives that can be recovered by each edition is noted as License Option above. The license allows for the recovery of multiple files from a single drive. A single drive is defined as a single rigid disk drive or a single removable media (USB drive, digital memory media, floppy disk, etc.). The Individual license is intended for private or home use on one computer. In all other cases, the software may be installed on any number of computers as long as the total number of drives recovered does not exceed the total number licensed. If software is to be used for commercial or financial gain including, but not limited to, performing technical or consulting services, a Commercial License must be purchased. Commercial licenses are available and based on an unlimited number of recoveries for a specified period of time. Individual, Standard, Business, and Enterprise editions are not licensed for commercial use. See additional details below.

*Corporate Licensing (Standard, Business, Enterprise) is a perpetual use license model and pertains to those companies who use the product "in-house" to serve their company's needs within the organization. Please note that the Corporate Licensing model may not be used for commercial or financial gain including, but not limited to, using it for technical or consulting services.

**Commercial Licensing is an annually renewable license model and is available for technicians, consultants or for organizations with technicians "in-the-field," who use the product in conjunction with services of any kind provided to third parties. Each license grants unlimited use according to the guidelines below. After each license period, each license is terminated unless renewed. 

• If used in a lab environment, one license is required per establishment per simultaneous use per year
• If used in a mobile environment, one license is required per technician per year
