Kroll Ontrack Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kroll Inc., provides large-scale electronic and paper-based evidence and data recovery services and software to help law firms, financial institutions, corporations, government agencies, and individuals quickly and cost-effectively recover, review, manage, and produce information and documents.

Formerly known as ONTRACK Data International, Inc., Kroll Ontrack operates as Kroll’s “Technology Services Group,” one of Kroll’s four core competencies dedicated to providing clients worldwide with practical, integrated solutions to mitigate risk.

Kroll Ontrack presents two brands to the marketplace – Kroll Ontrack™ and Ontrack Data Recovery®. Both provide cutting-edge technology solutions that center around solving the problems associated with the collection, storage and use of electronic data.

Services

Kroll Ontrack™ – Kroll Ontrack services and software assist legal professionals and investigators to collect, organize and prepare electronic data for review and analysis in support of litigation, regulatory compliance matters, and investigations. Electronic Discovery services employ proprietary technology to manage large volumes of electronic information for use in legal matters, regulatory filings, or other proceedings. Computer Forensics services are investigative in nature and includes the science of examining and piecing together computer-related conduct and technology use. Often, these services involve the recovery of deleted information.

Ontrack Data Recovery® – As the world’s largest data recovery company, Kroll Ontrack pioneered the data recovery industry and now has more than 17 years of experience in developing data recovery solutions to address nearly every data loss situation. In addition to in-lab services with clean room facilities, exclusive patented solutions enable virtual on-site services through Remote Data Recovery™ which can recover and restore original media often in a matter of hours.

Software

Ontrack® Inview™ – Because of its unsurpassed security features and its robust document review functions, Ontrack® Inview™ is the most advanced online repository and review tool available in the industry, making the review process quicker, easier, and more accurate than ever. Ontrack® Inview™ is an easy-to-use online review tool that enables Kroll Ontrack customers to perform all of the typical document review functions – searching, categorizing, redacting, and annotating – in a secure, online database repository uniquely dedicated to their case. With new features such as concept searching, Ontrack® Inview™ users will benefit from more accurate, precise search results that are unique to their set of documents.

PowerControls™ – PowerControls software is a powerful tool for copying and searching mailbox data directly from an un-mounted Exchange database (.edb) file. The software helps network storage managers, network administrators, email administrators, and help desk administrators to perform labor-intensive restorations in a fraction of the time.

Other Software – The Ontrack EasyRecovery™ software family provides an alternative for computer users who want a do-it-yourself method of recovering lost or damaged data. DataEraser™ software enables the simple, quick, and permanent deletion of personal, confidential, and critical data on a hard drive by actually overwriting all of the data – so the user can feel confident that sensitive information is completely eliminated. Disk Manager® software helps a user through the disk drive installation process.
