Christopher Weiler

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Weiler co-founded LDiscovery in 2005, which acquired Kroll Ontrack in 2016. Since its inception, LDiscovery has emerged as one of the top eDiscovery vendors in the United States. LDiscovery has been recognized by Socha-Gelbman, INC 5000, Deloitte 500, and has repeatedly earned kCura’s Orange-level Relativity Best in Service designation. Mr. Weiler also received Ernst & Young’s Washington, DC entrepreneur of the year award in 2014.

Prior to co-founding LDiscovery, Mr. Weiler co-founded and built On-Site Sourcing into a $40 million litigation support and electronic discovery services company, named in a survey of the American Lawyer top 100 law firms as one of the top five imaging and coding services companies and one of the ten best electronic discovery firms in the United States.

Mr. Weiler graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1985 and served in the United States Navy as a surface warfare officer and as a Navy Senate Liaison Officer in Washington, D.C. from 1985 until September 1991. He also worked for Pitney Bowes Management Services as a manager from September 1991 through December 1992.

As a former 1st team Washington Post All Met Receiver, MVP of Navy’s 1984 football team, and the father to three college athletes, Mr. Weiler has devoted the majority of his free time over the past fifteen years to coaching young men in youth basketball and high school football. Since 1997, Mr. Weiler has been the head or assistant coach to AAU, county and CYO basketball teams, and two high school football teams in Northern Virginia.

Joining the Lake Braddock Secondary School Staff in 2004 as the offensive coordinator, Mr. Weiler helped engineer the greatest turnaround in Virginia, Maryland and DC history from 2004 to 2005, win five district championships, two straight Northern Region titles, and a trip to the Virginia state final in 2009. Mr. Weiler also personally donated $200k for the building of two field turf fields at the school.

Mark R. Williams

President and Chief Operating Officer

Mark Williams leads the strategic vision of Kroll Ontrack and is accountable for advancing and growing the company’s business lines through continued investment in technology innovation and service excellence. Williams is an innovator in the legal industry, drawing on his experience as both a lawyer and founder of a legal outsourcing company that challenged traditional models for the delivery of legal services. With more than 20 years of experience, Williams has a strong track record as a strategic business partner, lawyer, and senior executive, having navigated corporate business environments around the globe.

Formerly, Williams was a managing director with Huron Legal, where he led the Discovery Group and was instrumental in integrating business practices to enhance capabilities and improve synergies across business units. Before joining Huron, Williams was a senior vice president with Axiom Global, where he led the Managed Discovery Business with operations in the United States, Belfast and India. Williams was previously a corporate and finance partner with DLA Piper for almost 17 years where he was a key leader in the firm’s international expansion into Asia and the Middle East; he spent 4 years in China and served as managing partner in Beijing, and opened the firm’s office in Doha, Qatar.

Williams holds a JD from Columbia University School of Law, an MBA from the University of Maryland/Beijing University for International Business & Economics, a MSc in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Illinois. He earned a Project Management Certification from DePaul University and completed the DLA Piper Harvard Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.

Gregory A. Olson

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Data Recovery and Software

Greg Olson provides executive and strategic leadership for the global Data Recovery and Software business line. In his current role, Olson leads the strategic and tactical evolution of the world-class data recovery services and enterprise software solutions.

Olson joined the company in 1990 and has served in various executive leadership roles across operations, product line management and software development organizations. Olson is a globally recognized expert in the area of data recovery and an experienced executive with extensive operational, financial and technical knowledge with specialized expertise in the areas of data recovery, computer forensics, electronic discovery and software development processes.

Olson graduated cum laude from St. Cloud State University in Minn. with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Cathleen Peterson

Senior Vice President, Consulting, Client Services and Operations

Cathleen Peterson is senior vice president of Kroll Ontrack Consulting, Client Services and Operations. In her role, Peterson is responsible for the strategy, growth and delivery of the client experience, and overseeing the day-today functions of client services and operations, as well as a full range of consulting services, including collection services, ESI consulting and review services.

Prior to joining Kroll Ontrack, Peterson was of counsel and the legal director of discovery analytics and review services for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where she consulted with clients and case teams on technology and all aspects of ediscovery, led the development of the firm's search analytics team and expanded discovery service offerings leveraging advanced technologies. Included in her many accomplishments, she designed, built and grew one of largest and most successful document review centers on the East Coast, deploying kCura's Relativity platform. Before joining Orrick, Peterson served as Counsel at WilmerHale, with an emphasis on large-scale SEC inquiries, complex litigation and internal investigations.

Peterson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Utah and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania.

Steve Schley

Vice President of Marketing

As vice president of marketing, Steve Schley has oversight responsibility for corporate marketing strategy, brand execution and thought leadership programs. He holds deep experience with B2B software and services companies managing sales and marketing teams and transforming businesses through innovative go-to-market strategies.

Previous to Kroll Ontrack, Schley worked nearly ten years with CPA Global, most recently as vice president responsible for strategic planning and revenue growth in their legal services division. He is credited with developing the company’s first channel partner program, establishing a network of product/service partners, consultants and resellers. Prior to CPA Global, Schley was president of a Minneapolis-based software firm that provided accounting and productivity tools to the accounting and legal industries.

Schley received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business, followed by Executive Leadership Education from Harvard Business School. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in Entrepreneurship and Business.

Shawn Abbas

Vice President, Finance

Shawn Abbas leads the organization's finance group and is responsible for financial analysis/reporting, budgeting and forecasting across all business lines. A globally experienced financial executive with broad expertise, Abbas brings deep proficiency to Kroll Ontrack in organizational strategic planning and implementation, process improvements, international business, accounting, auditing and financial management, among others.

Previously, Abbas held various management positions at Kroll Ontrack and Larson Allen.

Abbas earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Todd R. Johnson

Vice President, Data & Storage Technologies Americas & Asia Pacific

An experienced data recovery executive, Todd Johnson is responsible for all revenue generating and customer support activities for the Data & Storage Technologies business line of Kroll Ontrack in the Americas and Asia Pacific. In recent years, Johnson drove geographic expansion and cleanroom facility development into Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore. His team of experts is responsible the full breadth of inbound sales, business development, lab and cleanroom engineering, and technical support teams.
