New Yorkers to get a local option for rescuing lost data on their computer systems

New Yorkers have long had many options for finding a good slice of pizza in a hurry. But when their valuable computer data disappeared, finding a convenient data recovery service was more difficult. That is, until now. Ontrack, the world’s largest data recovery company, is coming to the New York metro area. The company today announced plans to open a complete data recovery laboratory in Secaucus, N.J. in late spring.

Ontrack has served customers in the metro area for more than ten years through its labs around the world. But, due to the high level of demand, New York is now getting a full-service clean room and recovery lab in its own back yard, offering customers in the Northeast region of the United States leading-edge data recovery services.

"The new lab makes data recovery services more convenient and accessible for millions of people in the New York metro area," said Michael Rogers, CEO of Ontrack. "It also strengthens the long-standing commitment we have to provide people throughout the Northeast with the best in data protection and recovery solutions."

Ontrack uses hundreds of proprietary tools and techniques to end the headaches that accompany the loss of mission-critical data. Ontrack engineers in the New York lab will be equipped to handle any data loss situation, including hard-drive crashes, for any available storage device and operating system, including MS-DOS, Windows, Windows 95, Windows NT, Unix, Macintosh, Novell NetWare and VAX-VMS.

Ontrack is the only company in the world offering Remote Data Recovery (RDR) services. RDR is a patent-pending technology that lets Ontrack rescue data on modem-equipped PCs by phone, restoring data in as little as one hour. RDR works in conjunction with Ontrack Data AdvisorÔ, easy-to-use freeware diagnostic software available at

The new office, located at Gateway Plaza, 1 Harmon Meadow Blvd., Secaucus, N.J. 07094, joins a worldwide network of labs from Ontrack, including Minneapolis, Los Angeles, San Jose, Washington D.C., Tokyo, London and Stuttgart. The office has immediate access to the NJ Turnpike, Route 3, and Paterson Plank Road, and is conveniently located just five miles from Manhattan and two hours from Philadelphia.

Ontrack, the world leader in data recovery, specializes in software and services that help computer users protect and manage their valuable data. Using hundreds of proprietary tools and techniques, Ontrack is able to recover lost or corrupted data from all operating systems and types of storage devices. Ontrack can be reached through its World Wide Web site at or by calling 800-872-2599.###
