Ontrack Data International, Inc, the worldwide leader in data recovery, proudly announces the appointment of William R. Miller as the company’s new OEM Business Development Manager. Miller, a prominent veteran of the data storage industry, will strengthen the relationship Ontrack maintains with data storage and PC manufacturers.

We are fortunate to have someone as well-known in the storage industry as Bill Miller join the Ontrack team,” said Michael Rogers, CEO of Ontrack. “His longstanding relationships with storage vendors will greatly contribute to the success of Ontrack.” Prior to joining Ontrack, Miller held a variety of posts with data-storage and backup-system providers such as Century Data Systems, and Conner Peripherals. Miller was one of the founders of Archive Corporation, which before being acquired by Conner Peripherals was one of the leading tape back-up system manufacturers in the world. Miller has also served as an independent technology consultant and recently helped launch a startup, Elm Systems Corp. Miller has also served on a variety of advisory committees and task forces established by industry standards organizations ANSI and IEEE. “In the storage industry, Ontrack is highly respected for its outstanding software and its unmatched ability to recover lost data,” said Miller. “It’s great to be part of the best team in the business.” From his home base at the Ontrack data recovery laboratory in Los Angeles, Miller will work with hardware manufacturers to promote the bundling of Ontrack Disk Manager® for Windows™ and Ontrack Data Advisor™ with their equipment.

The recent update of Disk Manager, the world’s top-selling hard disk installation utility, to version 3.4 allows PCs to support hard disk drives with capacities greater than 8 GB for the first time. The easy-to-use Data Advisor diagnostic utility can identify a wide range of hardware- and software-related hard drive problems, including virus infections. Data Advisor also enables the exclusive Ontrack Remote Data Recovery (RDR™), a fast, convenient service that allows Ontrack to recover lost data over a phone line in as little as a few hours.
