Entex, nation’s largest PC integrator, chooses Ontrack as top vendor for data recovery servicesOntrack® Data International (Nasdaq: ONDI), the world leader in data recovery, will join forces with Entex Information Services, the nation’s largest PC systems integrator, to safeguard Entex customers’ valuable data. Ontrack will become the preferred provider of data recovery services for customers protected under Entex service contracts.
Entex customers can now take advantage of Ontrack services when they experience a data loss on a server, desktop PC or notebook computer running Windows, Windows NT, OS/2 or even DOS, experienced Ontrack data recovery experts will be ready to help. Ontrack operates 8 labs world-wide, staffed by skilled engineers and equipped with the most extensive collection of recovery tools and techniques available. No matter whether a data loss is caused by equipment breakdown, virus infection, catastrophe such as fire or flood, or simple human error, Ontrack can usually get the valuable data back quickly.
“Data recovery is an essential component of any PC service program, and Ontrack is our partner in this area,” said Rob Justice, Vice President, Service Marketing at Entex. “The Ontrack lab network and innovations such as Remote Data Recovery set them apart from the competition.”
In addition to traditional recoveries performed at Ontrack lab sites, Entex customers will be eligible for Remote Data Recovery™, a unique service from Ontrack that allows many data losses to be repaired over a modem connection. Remote Data Recovery (RDR™) is the fastest, most convenient way to get back precious lost data, any time, anywhere there’s a phone.
To enable its customers to take advantage of RDR, Entex will make diskettes available containing a customized version of Ontrack Data Advisor™, a diagnostic utility that pinpoints the source of data loss and provides advice on how to address it. When a data loss occurs – even if their PCs won’t boot –Entex customers will be able to use the Data Advisor self-booting startup diskette to identify the problem. If appropriate, Data Advisor gives the user the option of initiating a Remote Data Recovery session. If Data Advisor finds that serious damage to the hard disk drive has occurred, it will advise users to ship the hard disk drive to an Ontrack lab for a traditional data recovery.
“Entex is on the leading edge of PC systems and performance, and we’re pleased to be their data recovery partners,” said Michael Rogers, chairman and CEO of Ontrack. “For large corporations such as Entex’s customers, data is money, and data loss is an unfortunate, and potentially disastrous, fact of life. When it happens, Entex clients will get the best possible care for their valuable data.”
