Engenium recognized as one of KMWorld’s 100 companies that matter in knowledge management
Recently acquired company receives top honors for its conceptual search technology
Minneapolis – March 1, 2007 – Engenium, recently acquired by electronic discovery and computer forensics leader Kroll Ontrack, today announced it was named one of KMWorld’s “100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management.” Selected for its superior intelligent search-related technology, this is the second consecutive year Engenium has received this award.
The “100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management” honor is awarded to companies that are innovative and help create, enhance and or define a market. This year’s list of recognized companies was compiled by KM practitioners, theorists, analysts, vendors and their customers to recognize firms that are making significant contributions in optimizing the use of information within enterprises and other organizations. The complete list of honorees will appear in KMWorld’s March 2007 print issue.
Engenium’s inclusion in the list reflects the advanced search and information organization capabilities of its Semetric family of products. The company’s search and clustering solutions utilize intelligent concept analysis to yield faster, more precise and more intelligent results than keyword searches.
“We are honored to be recognized by a leading organization such as KMWorld for our conceptual search technology,” said David Chaplin, vice president of search technology for Kroll Ontrack. “This award recognizes our contributions to technology innovation and our commitment to developing tool capabilities that make a difference to customers.”
“As the volume of data that businesses create and must manage increases exponentially, search-related technology has become more pertinent than ever,” said Ben Allen, president of Kroll Ontrack. “Kroll Ontrack’s acquisition of Engenium underscores our devotion to providing customers with intelligent solutions that address the evolving challenges associated with information management. Furthermore, we plan to leverage Engenium’s award-winning search capabilities to bring new products to the marketplace.”
