Kroll acquires TrialGraphix, leading provider of trial consulting and presentation services
Transaction makes Kroll the international leader for all facets of litigation services
Minneapolis – September 18, 2007 – Kroll, the global risk consulting company, today announced that it acquired TrialGraphix ®, which will operate as part of the Legal Technology business of Kroll Ontrack ®, the industry’s largest provider of electronic and paper document discovery, computer forensics, and data recovery services. The acquisition expands Kroll’s litigation service offering to include trial graphics, courtroom presentation technologies and jury consulting services. Ultimately, this enables law firms and corporations to engage one expert for their litigation consulting and technology needs from pre-litigation preparedness, through discovery and trial.
This combination eliminates the need to select multiple experts or to transfer evidentiary materials between service providers throughout the litigation timeline, which advances Kroll’s objective to provide comprehensive services to the litigation community. Documents that are preserved and collected before litigation, can now be filtered, processed, reviewed and produced for discovery, then seamlessly presented at trial.
“By adding TrialGraphix to the Kroll family, we can serve as a stronger, more valuable partner to our legal customers by providing them with a more complete offering—from the investigation through the trial,” said Simon Freakley, CEO of Kroll.
“The strength of TrialGraphix in jury consulting, graphics and presentation technology services will be an invaluable addition to our existing capabilities. We will now be positioned to deliver solutions that fulfill all of our customers' increasingly complex litigation consulting and technology requirements,” said Kristin Nimsger, president of Kroll Ontrack. “ The best-of-breed services provided by TrialGraphix combined with Kroll Ontrack’s industry leading discovery services, computer forensics, ESI consulting and software positions Kroll Ontrack as the premier litigation technology company, and Kroll as the premier provider of services to law firms from notice of a claim all the way through trial.”
“Combining these two companies allows us to surpass what we each have accomplished individually and will significantly reshape our industry,” said Steve Stolberg, CEO of TrialGraphix. “This provides us with a new opportunity to pursue our collective goal to become the very best end-to-end service provider in the previously fragmented market for litigation services.”
Kroll acquired TrialGraphix from a holding company controlled by Frontenac Company (private equity firm) and TrialGraphix employees. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Miami, Fla., with facilities in eight major legal markets, TrialGraphix will become part of Kroll Ontrack’s Legal Technologies business.
