Kroll Ontrack electronic discovery certification course remains highly popular with litigation and practice support professionals

Company schedules additional courses in September and December to meet demand

MINNEAPOLIS - August 24, 2004 – Recognizing the increasing impact that electronic evidence can have on the outcome of lawsuits, litigation and practice support professionals have made Kroll Ontrack’s unique Electronic Discovery Certification Course a necessary training seminar for those not wanting to be left behind by the e-document explosion.

In fact, there has been so much widespread interest in its Electronic Discovery Certification Course that Kroll Ontrack has decided to offer the two-day program twice more this year. Kroll Ontrack, which is headquartered just outside of Minneapolis, is a leading provider of electronic and paper-based document discovery solutions and computer forensic services to law firms, government entities, and corporations.

Kroll Ontrack’s two new events – taking place at its corporate headquarters on September 16 and 17, 2004, and again on December 2 and 3, 2004 – mark the fourth and fifth times Kroll Ontrack has offered these certification courses to litigation and practice support professionals. Its three previous programs have been presented to capacity or near-capacity audiences with attendees coming from as far as Spain and the United Kingdom to learn from the host of experts who present during the two-day certification course.

“The interest in this topic comes as no surprise given that virtually every method of communication now takes place only electronically. This leads to volumes of electronic evidence that is relevant, even pivotal, when litigation or an investigation ensues,” said Kristin Nimsger, Esq., Senior Director, Legal Technologies at Kroll Ontrack. “These certification courses, which consistently receive great reviews, help members of the e-discovery response team maneuver through the complex tasks of managing, reviewing and producing electronic documents.”

The two-day certification course is designed to provide training and education about the technical details of managing e-discovery processes for litigation and regulatory compliance matters. Upon completion, all participants will receive the “Certified E-Discovery Specialist” designation which recognizes them as litigation support professionals who meet the industry’s high standards for managing the e-discovery process and assisting attorneys in making digital evidence decisions that could determine the outcome of pending litigation.

To date, more than 100 litigation support professionals from around the world have participated in Kroll Ontrack’s Certification Courses.

“Everyone agrees that the appropriate training is crucial for properly and ethically responding to electronic document requests in today’s computer-centered business environment,” said Susan Kaiser, Practice Support Project Manager for Jones Day in Cleveland, Ohio. “Kroll Ontrack’s Certification Course is beneficial for seasoned managers, like myself, because it helps to validate our knowledge and provides new tips and tricks we might not have known about. In fact, I’ve heard from both experienced managers as well as newer litigation professionals that the certification course provided them with a more thorough understanding of the entire electronic discovery process.”

Some of the topics include:

* The Differences between Electronic Discovery and Computer Forensics
* Managing an Electronic Discovery Project and Key Decisions
* Electronic Document Collection and Processing
* E-Discovery Review and Production Options
* Computer Forensic Best Practices
* Advantages and Disadvantages of Using an Online Repository

Tuition for the course is $1500 (with early bird pricing of $995 available). Enrollment is limited to 80 people. For more information on this course, or to register, please visit www.krollontrack.com/certification or call 1-800-347-6105 ext 4105.
