Kroll Ontrack launches Technology Assisted Review Learning Lab series

Attorneys, paralegals and litigation support professionals to gain hands-on experience with the practical application of Technology Assisted Review functionality

MINNEAPOLIS – March 19, 2013Kroll Ontrack, the leading provider of ediscovery, information management, and data recovery products and services, today announced it is hosting a new series of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) Learning Labs, complete with CLE credit, in select cities around the country.

Specifically, the one-day Technology Assisted Review Learning Labs will dissect TAR through instructor-led exercises and document review hypotheticals. Users will learn how to set-up an automated workflow; calibrate precision, recall and f-measure; and measure the results of TAR through sampling and reporting. At the end of each session, attendees will be able to:

  • Train the system so that the machine can learn to categorize documents.
  • Complete a review by only looking at a small portion of a document set.
  • Document and defend their TAR process.

“The legal industry has been buzzing for quite some time about predictive coding, intelligent review and automated review, so the market understands its value, but wants to learn how to put this market-disruptive technology to use,” said Michele Lange, director of thought leadership, Kroll Ontrack. “The Kroll Ontrack Technology Assisted Review Learning Labs are designed to do just that. We are taking our strong foundation in providing educational curriculum and pairing it with our Ontrack® Inview™ Intelligent Review Technology to help attorneys, litigation support and paralegals become experts on the practical application of TAR.”
